St Anne, patroness of childless couples

st anne

Today is the Feast Day of St Anne, the mother of Mary.

It is belived that Anne was quite elderly when Mary was born and Mary was their only child.

Devotion to her had been reported since the early days of the Catholic Church.

Saint Anne is especially invoked as the Patroness of Mothers, for Conception Difficulties, Infertility, help of the Pregnant, Women in Labour,  and Grandparents.

I’d never heard of St. Anne. Thanks for telling us about it!

My DH read about the woman who died of ovarian cancer after having her twin girls and he freaked out a little. He almost wanted us to stop taking fertility drugs ’til I explained her age and what she had to do to get pregnant.
